This is so hopeful. Big dreams yield big initiatives. Food is such a basic human right and schools would be a wonderful place to support children and their families. Thanks for all your vision and hard work!

Thank you, Chef Jose, and the Biden administration and everyone involved in this initiative. This is long overdue and so vitally important! I feel hope and inspiration and pray these plans will get off the ground in a big way and are the beginning of a new way of life. Clean air, water, and food are fundamental rights.

Thank you so much for all that you do to combat hunger. Your heart is huge. You are an inspiration. The Community Gourmet is a grassroots nonprofit in Southern Maine addressing food insecurity in a somewhat unique way. We create meal kits with shelf-stable ingredients. Each kit includes enough to make 14 servings of food, as well as recipes to teach people how to cook; each kit also includes a basic kitchen tool, such as measuring cups and spoons, colanders, wooden spoons, etc. our mission is to nurture, teach, and genuinely care about those receiving our kits. There is no charge to those receiving the kits, which are currently being distributed to four local food pantries.

We have recently rented space so that we can expand our services (we’ve been working out of out homes where space is limited). With the new space, we will be able to expand our services to other pantries that are in desperate need.

You and your work has been a huge inspiration to us, and we were recently awarded a Daily Point of Light award (number 7377) which was presented to us by Neil and Lauren Bush at the Points of Light Board meeting in Kennebunkport, Maine. We are beyond honored to have received this award, especially knowing that you will be honored at the Annual Points of Light event in NYC later this month. We hope to meet you one day.

Thanks for sharing your analysis and take aways from this important event. I am optimistic mainly because you are a committee member and I know you won't stand for bullshit when it comes to getting things done (instead of just 'talking, talking, talking...)

I am a 100% behind the vision you and others have shared and tell us what we can do to support the effort!

How wonderful to hear your excitement and to hear new ideas and ways to end hunger. I love the free school lunches and the quote "nobody should go hungry in this country"! There is so much wasted food, it should be a crime. I hope this is just the beginning of big changes ahead and for families everywhere to never go to bed hungry in the near future.
