World Cup champions!

People of the world, what a match yesterday! I am still smiling from España’s amazing World Cup victory…it was an incredible match, and both teams left everything on the field. This is of course Spain’s second World Cup victory (we won in 2010 too), so I hope this win proves to the world that not only do we have the best food, we have the best fútbol as well!!!! And I think I might have a second career as an announcer now?

It was a special moment personally, because I got to celebrate with my wife Tichi and my daughter Inés at the game when they won…

And of course, Mercado Little Spain in New York became an official Casa España for fans from all over the city (and the world!!!) to enjoy the games together, along with Spanish food and wine…so they could get a taste of what it’s like to be in Spain during these intense matches!

I am always, during every World Cup, so inspired to see how hard every team works. And this year, it was incredible to see all of the wonderful moments that came along the way…seeing people from all around the world fall in love with American food and American culture, and seeing the rest of the world fall in love with Erling Haaland (you can’t deny it, he is amazing!). Congratulations to all the teams—you have inspired us all, and have given so many of us many moments that shared joy.
