The war in Ukraine is always on my mind. But that is especially true right now. February 24^th is the one-year anniversary of this terrible conflict. And I’ve been traveling here this month, witnessing the inspiring resilience of the Ukrainian people.

I know many of you also have the people of Ukraine in your hearts. And so today on the show, I am talking to someone who is actively working to help end this conflict. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Secretary Blinken is the ultimate global citizen. He grew up in New York and Paris. (And wait till you hear about the meal he remembers most from growing up in Paris!!)

As America’s chief diplomat, Secretary Blinken is making essential decisions about so many issues that I care about, that we all care about: Ukraine, of course, but also the fight for global food security in the wake of the war.

But to me the most exciting part of our talk was his complete support for a making food a national security priority. I know…you’ve heard me mention this a again and again and again. But I was thrilled to make my case to Secretary Blinken and hear his thoughts.
