One good thing: Pitaya
There's a new segment on the podcast: recommendations from guess who? Me
People! I know, I know, the world is looking a little crazy lately. Twitter. Inflation. Ukraine. There’s plenty to feel unsettled, even gloomy, about. But my friends, I don’t believe in gloomy.
So for this podcast, and a few more coming up this spring, I’ve decided to tweak the recipe for my show to begin with what I’m calling One Good Thing.
What do I mean by that? One Good Thing is something I think is great, something I think you need more of in your life. Maybe it’s an ingredient, maybe it’s a book or a place or an idea.
Listen right here or wherever you get your podcasts.
Because it’s January, it feels right that we kick this thing off with something fresh, something that gives us hope that it will soon be warm again. And, that my friends, is pitaya, a tropical fruit that way too many people don’t know about or love—yet.
Some things, though, are too good to change. So I’ll still be taking calls from you. This week, I level with a listener about how I try to manage weight and eat healthily, despite the perils of my job. It is not something I’ve talked about before. And, spoiler, it isn’t easy!
I’d love to hear your reactions to what you hear and what you do to stay fit.

I first had pitaya in Colombia and I loved it - the texture and flavor - but the locals were very amused by how much I liked it because they consider pitaya to be mainly a remedy for constipation 🙃
