People of the world, how are you doing? Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? It’s hard to believe it’s next week…how do you typically spend your day? I love to hear about everyone’s traditions. Is there a dish that can’t be missed, no matter what? Or a recipe that has been passed down through generations?
With Thanksgiving and the holidays coming up, I wanted to offer you an idea that might be a delicious alternative to a turkey. Of course turkey can be delicious…but I’m pretty sure most people overcook it—and no one wants dry turkey ! So why not try something a little different this year…like roast beef? Roast beef is such a staple in the U.S., and there are so many regions that claim the best roast beef, especially sandwiches. Have any of you guys had a beef sandwich in Chicago? Watching The Bear makes me want one…I’m hungry just thinking about it!
This recipe is perfect for a holiday main course because while it takes a little time to cook, it’s not very hands on, so you can do other things while the beef roasts in your oven…like have a glass of wine!
I’m sending it to you now so you can practice once or twice before next week…and you can also figure out what to do with leftovers (sandwiches, pastas, tacos…whatever you can dream up!) When you’re buying the beef, ask your butcher to truss, or tie the beef, because it will make it a more uniform shape that helps it cook more evenly.
Let me know how you like it and what you do with your leftovers!
