My friends—I’m so excited to be talking to you today and sharing with you one of the most amazing salads I’ve ever hugged. I mean, I’ve ever had!
This is the very, very famous Caesar Salad of Jamie Lee Curtis. If you had a moment to watch my new special, Dinner Party Diaries (which came out yesterday!), you know that she makes the salad for people she loves—like her godson, the actor Jake Gyllenhaal—and that what’s so special about it is that she puts herself in it…she hugs the salad. After all of my years in the kitchen, this is definitely a new one for me, so I’m happy to be able to share it with you.
I found an interview with Jamie Lee from 1990 when she was asked what she’s better at than anyone else, and she replied: Making a Caesar salad. My secrets are lots of Worcestershire sauce and my homemade croutons. So you know she takes it seriously, and she has for decades!
My team made the recipe this week and it’s amazing, I’m telling you. Chef Patricia was the one to hug the salad and I think she did a great job of it—you can really see the love here.
So here’s her recipe as she sent it—not in our normal menu formatting, but much more beautiful and personal to Jamie Lee. If you’re making the recipe for 2, follow it as is, if you’re making it for more, it scales nicely.
So here you are…
