The new film “The Grab,” feels like a thriller. Secretive governments, powerful financiers, and armed mercenaries all working together to seize control of food and water resources at the expense of…well, all of us.
But “The Grab” is a documentary. And the incredible reporting it shows proves something that I’ve been saying for years to anyone who will listen…Food is national security. And it is time that the U.S. government and all of us start thinking about it that way.
Investigative journalist Nate Halverson is at the center of the story. On this episode of Longer Tables, he talks to my executive producer Jane Black about how he stumbled into this global threat and the impact that these dangerous trends have on so many people’s everyday lives, from Africa to Arizona.
People, there are few issues out there more important than this! So tune in to this episode and check out the film too. It’s out June 14th in select theaters and on streaming platforms.
