Hello friends,
Yesterday I shared with you a bit of history about the cake that we make for Día de Reyes, or Three Kings Day…it’s called the Roscón de Reyes. Today you can have the recipe! This is similar to the one that you can taste at Jaleo and Mercado Little Spain, but you can make it your own by changing up the decoration, or using a different fruit peel if you like, or skipping the orange blossom water, or adding a little more rum (hey, why not?), or putting in kings or queens or princesses or babies or legos or Star Wars figurines…just don’t forget to tell the people enjoying your cake to eat carefully…you don’t want them to bite down and lose a tooth! And if you put in a bean, maybe your rule can be that whoever gets it will have to MAKE next year’s cake…so you can share the recipe with them, too!
